Nothing exciting....

I have never read a book by Jane Lythell, but I love psychological thrillers and when the book was reviewed as "thrilling like Gone Girl," I was itching to read this book.
It is very rare that I read a book I end up not liking, but this is one of them. Overall, it was "okay." Very little suspense, except towards the end and it lasts about a chapter and then the book goes on. Something happens on the island towards the last chapters and the author blows over it like it's not a big deal. The characters, for the most part, were interesting; however, I kept waiting for something BIG to happen, for something to force me to keep reading, to keep me on my seat, and when it happened, it was over just as quick as it started. I was disappointed and literally put the book down saying, "that was it?!"

Okay story

I think this story was very simplistic . I own a 42-foot motor boat and have been on a lot of sailboats . I find it almost impossible to read a book about boats where the head is called the heads and the salon is called the saloon. Certainly, someone could have edited this story who had some knowledge about boat language. I found the story to be written in a childlike fashion; however, this could be partially because of my feelings of annoyance with the improper boat jargon . I love boats and boating. I did not love this novel. If you love cars, you do not want to read a book where the wheels are called the wheelers over and over again.

Horrible ending

The book started out with plenty of potential plot but just never launched. What storm? There was no storm unless storm is a euphemism for turmoil. The book was bland and just ran out of gas half way through.
